Compatibility with Office 2021 and Windows 11

Since its release on October 5, 2021, many of our users are switching over to the 2021 version of the Microsoft Office suite. We know many of you have questions about how this update will affect your current and future use of the NumXL add-in.

If you’re on the verge of upgrading your Office suite, we have good news: The NumXL add-in for Microsoft 365 is now fully compatible with Office 2021. Better still, you can continue using the same version of NumXL when you switch. Simply update your Office suite and continue using NumXL as before – no need to upgrade or reinstall.

In related news, Microsoft recently announced the release of the Windows 11 operating system. This will mark the first major Microsoft OS release since 2015. Based on preliminary compatibility tests we conducted, we foresee no issues running the NumXL add-in on Excel in Windows 11.

That said, our testing will continue as the new OS rolls out. Going forward, we’re always available to support and troubleshoot any compatibility issues NumXL users might face as they migrate their workstations to Windows 11.

With the release of new software and operating systems, our core mission stays the same: To enhance the capabilities of Microsoft Excel with sophisticated econometric functions that meet the needs of finance professionals and academics around the world.
